El Parque

Every Saturday we get a few hours to go into the park and contact people. Our companionships get switched and we go talk to people about the Gospel in Spanish! Its been a really neat experience for me and hlping me become more prepared for the feild. This Last Saturday I was paired up with two sisters. One of them from th USA and doesn´t speak spanish very well and the other from Italy and doesn´t speak english or spanish but can understand english. So since both sisters felt uncomfortable with the language barrier, i had to do the approaching and then alsp the talking. The American sister said nothing, absolutely nothing all day and the italian sister would randomly say something in italian and i would just smile and say ¨Sí¨ and continue talking. It was a really good experience for me because i need to get better at spainsh and more confident in it. And we talked to this one family that was really interesting in what we think about families and i caould understand most of what they were saying and i was able to communicate back. but as soon as i mentioned anything else about they church they told me they were content and didn´t need religion and i tried to let them know this would make them happier and i bore my testimony about families in the gospel but they decided to go on their way but did take my family flyer. All day seemed to go like that but even though not too many people were wanting to know more it was nice to be with the people and learn some more spanish! well i hope you will enjoy these photos...there from the park! o and we also sing in the park as well so enjoy the pics!!!!

Prep day in MADRID

Madrid is such a beautiful city. Every P-day I am allowed to spend 3 hours in the city. Today my district and I went to find the Real Madrid futból stadium...it took us about an hour just to find it and i cost 15 euros to take a tour so since we wanted to do other things we decided that maybe we would go back next week. We ended up in Sol. its an amazing part of Madrid. There is so much to look at and so many shops! All the shops are in the really old buildings. There are little vendors on the streets too. a lot of the vendors just have a blanket out with different items to buy such as: braclets, purses, watches and there was even a cotton candy man today. The people here are very beautiful and striking. I´m defiantly in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. We take the Metro everywhere! its a lot of fun...defiantly interesting. There was a live band on the Metro. Their were four men playing together and they were really good. After they played they walked around with a cup and people put there loose change in the cup. I love that! i almost feel like i´m in a movie when i´m on the metro, or just walking around in the city. Its all very surreal! I cant believe that i get this amazing opprotunity to be in SPAIN!
The language is a whole other story...its really been difficult for me. I´m doing pretty well with understanding the general idea of the conversation but when it comes to specifics like when someone asks me a question, then its difficult. But i know that with Heavenly Fathers help i´ll eventually get it. i hope you all enjoy reading this! Spain is wonderful and I love my mission!

Provo MTC

I entered the Provo MTC on August 13th, 2008. I served with Sister Swenson...and ALL the other Elders in the MTC. She is really great and we are doing well as companions. In the Madrid MTC we will be serving together as well. I left the MTC to go to the Madrid MTC on September 2nd, 2008.
